Job Summary
Work Performed
- Operate various machine tools to manufacture and repair mechanical assembles, perform welding, brazing and cutting using gas and electric welding equipment.
Work Performed
- Setup and operate various machine tools to repair and manufacture mechanical assemblies (horizontal and vertical mills).
- Use measuring devices and techniques correctly to assure proper sizing.
- Lift, tighten, adjust and/or secure heavy objects in order to perform work and/or to observe safety procedures.
- Observe all safety procedures and use proper protective gear.
- Maintain housekeeping in assigned areas.
- Understand machine lubrication, maintenance and proper operation.
- Perform other skilled or non-skilled duties as directed by lead person, supervisor, plant manager and/or president.
- Must be able to read drawings/blueprints.
- Fabricate equipment by cutting, burning and welding various metals. Repair equipment by using welding techniques and appropriate welding equipment.
- Build up worm or defective surfaces (i.e. welding up shafts so they can be re-machined).
- Using burning equipment to dismantle assemblies and cut materials.
- Must provide own tools and toolbox.
- Preferred level of education/experience: high school diploma.
- High school, trade school, vocational/technical school, military, or on-the-job training.
- Basic Mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to understand, perform and retain various job-related training and operational and safety procedures demonstrated by lead person, supervisor, plant manager and/or president.
- Ability to work well with others in a team effort.
