Job Summary
Job Summary
- Perform all kinds of welding, brazing, and cutting using gas and electric welding equipment. Disassemble and Assemble Electric Motors.
- Must be able to read drawings/blueprints.
- Must be able to hold to strict tolerance and maintain a high level of attention to detail.
- Manufacture new parts from engineering drawings or sample parts.
- Use hand-held and stationary power and non-power tools, including but not limited to: band saws, belt sanders, hand grinders, files, etc.
- Use measuring devices and techniques correctly to assure proper sizing.
- Fabricate equipment by cutting, burning, and welding various metals. Repair equipment by using welding techniques and appropriate welding equipment.
- Clean and prepare surfaces to be welded. Set up, assemble, and tack weld parts.
- Build up worn or defective surfaces (i.e. welding up shafts so they can be re-machined).
- Use burning equipment to dismantle assemblies and cut material.
- Disassemble, inspect, and assemble electric motors. Fill out shop documentation through repair processes

- Lift, tighten, adjust, and/or secure heavy objects in order to perform work safely.
- Perform other skilled or non-skilled duties as directed by lead person, shop supervisor and/or plant manager.
- Maintain housekeeping in assigned area. Routinely clean the machines you are working on and the areas in which you are working to minimize debris and unnecessary buildup of excess materials that could create operational and safety hazards.
- Must wear Personal Protective Equipment at all times while at work, including but not limited to; safety glasses and steel toe boots. When welding, you will be required to wear additional PPE as detailed in PPE Training/Safety Manual.
