We are seeking a dynamic and energetic Gift Shop Manager to help launch our new retail gift shop. In this role, you will oversee daily operations, manage staff, and ensure an exceptional customer experience. Responsibilities
- Supervise daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and POS (Point of Sale) system management.
- Hire, lead, motivate, and develop a team of sales associates through effective training, coaching, and performance evaluations.
- Manage inventory control by overseeing stock levels, conducting regular audits, and coordinating purchasing and merchandising efforts to optimize product presentation.
- Work to find new local vendors making local crafts.
- Implement sales strategies to meet or exceed revenue goals while ensuring excellent customer service standards.
- Oversee employee scheduling, shift management, and payroll processing to ensure smooth store functioning.
- Conduct interviews for hiring new staff members and participate in employee orientation programs.
- Maintain accurate bookkeeping records, manage store budgets, and handle administrative tasks related to retail operations.
- Work with our marketing team to help create videos, pictures and more to promote the gift shop.
- Utilize strong communication skills to liaise with vendors, coordinate marketing initiatives, and address customer inquiries effectively.
Requirements
- Proven management experience in retail sales or store management with supervising responsibilities.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills; bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus for engaging diverse customers.
- Demonstrated proficiency in inventory management systems, POS technology, and retail math calculations.
- Experience with purchasing, pricing strategies, merchandising, and stock replenishment.
- Ability to lead a team through training & development initiatives while fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Previous assistant manager or supervisory experience preferred; familiarity with retail marketing is advantageous.
- Exceptional customer service skills coupled with phone etiquette and sales management capabilities.
