Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and provide attentive, personalized service throughout their dining experience
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, ensuring timely delivery
- Upsell menu items and specials to enhance guest satisfaction and increase sales opportunities
- Handle food safety, sanitation, and proper food handling procedures diligently to maintain health standards
- Assist with food preparation, bussing tables, and maintaining cleanliness in dining areas to ensure a welcoming environment
- Manage cash handling responsibilities accurately and efficiently during transactions
- Utilize reservation platforms like OpenTable to coordinate seating arrangements and optimize guest flow
- Foster positive guest relations through excellent communication, attentive service, and resolving any concerns promptly
Experience
- Previous restaurant or food service experience is highly preferred
- Familiarity with POS systems
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation practices
- Demonstrated ability in customer service, upselling, and sales techniques
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently during busy hours
- Experience with food handling, basic math for cashiering, and guest relations enhances success in this role
- Prior host/hostess or serving experience provides a solid foundation for delivering exceptional guest experiences
- Strong teamwork skills
