Lou Sobh Honda of the Avenues in JACKSONVILLE, FL is hiring! We are seeking an Automotive Title Clerk who is detail-oriented, reliable, and eager to be cross-trained in additional accounting and dealership operations. Duties and Responsibilities include: (but are not limited to)
Title Processing & Documentation
- Prepare and process vehicle title applications for new and used vehicles
- Verify accuracy of legal documents (bill of sale, title, odometer disclosure, lien info)
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
- Submit paperwork to the DMV or appropriate agencies in a timely manner
- Process out-of-state title transfers
- Handle dealer trades and wholesale titles
- Manage electronic title systems (ETitle/ELT)
- Reconcile title fees and accounting reports
- Support accounting with deal posting or funding paperwork
- Process vehicle registrations, renewals, and tag transfers
- Calculate and collect applicable taxes, fees, and registration costs
- Issue temporary tags or plates when needed
- Maintain organized records of all title and registration transactions
- Enter customer and vehicle data into dealership or state systems
- Track status of pending titles and follow up on delays
- Record lienholder information and ensure liens are properly filed
- Process lien releases once loans are paid off
- Coordinate with banks or financial institutions for title clearance
- Communicate with customers regarding title status, missing documents, or corrections
- Work with sales, finance, and accounting departments to gather required paperwork
- Answer questions related to registration, titling, and fees
- Stay up to date on state DMV laws and title regulations
- Ensure all transactions meet legal and company standards
- Assist with internal audits or inspections
- Correct title errors (name mismatches, VIN issues, missing signatures)
- Handle lost titles, duplicate requests, and rejected applications
- Resolve discrepancies with state agencies or customers
