What's the role?
Lotto.com is looking for a driven Controller to lead and drive our accounting function and reporting framework as we continue to scale the business. You will be responsible for managing the accounting team, overseeing day to day activity. The ideal candidate is a hands-on, roll-up your sleeves type of leader, and enjoys working in a fast-paced start-up environment. This position requires strong financial, accounting and management skills, and is extremely detail oriented.
What you'll do:
- Assume accountability and ownership over the General Ledger, systems, and accuracy of monthly, quarterly and annual financial inputs and outputs
- Manage daily cost accounting requirements and ensure all deadlines are met, by working with cross functional teams
- Plan, develop, organize, implement, direct and evaluate the organization's financial functions and performance.
- Run financial audits and maintain close relationships with our audit partners to ensure a smooth process
- Stay apprised of the local, state, and federal laws and business regulations that affect the company, and ensure compliance within those regulations.
- Develop a reliable cash flow projection process
- Provide analysis, tools and metrics that assist the Company in achieving operational and financial excellence.
- Monitors and identifies budget variances for the company and provides senior leadership with insights and perspectives on required actions to address variances
- Responsible for the overall work product of all direct reports while also providing timely feedback on their performances and well as career mentorship
- Manage our third-party bookkeepers
What you need:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3 years of general accounting experience within consumer products, retail, auditing, or related industries
- Active Certified Public Accountant license
- Experience in leading and growing teams
- Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
- Proven ability to analyze finance-related issues and recommend optimal solutions
- Ability to handle multiple accounts simultaneously
- Excellent command of the English language
- Strong numeracy and analytical skills
