Job Summary: The Production Planning Manager will be responsible for directing, developing, and managing production planning and scheduling, inventory management, materials planning, warehousing, scrap, and logistics. The Production Planning Manager will put in place, maintain, and control procedures associated with managing the company inventory. This position will supervise team members.
Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the coordination of production capacity and material planning, warehousing, and scheduling activities to maximize machine build plan
- Establish and implement methods and best practices related to the systems and process that support inventory forecasting, purchasing, material control, and scheduling
- Leads organization in attaining key metrics including working capital, inventory turns, days on hand, on-time delivery, and schedule adherence
- Understands department's key performance indicators and contributes to achieving these goals both individually and as a team
- Partner with purchasing to develop and implement supplier strategies to ensure correct delivery, quality and supply flow of product from vendor
- Manage and flex material demand and flow allowing for fluctuation in forecasts and managing the growth of the business while ensuring the timely availability of components
- Forecast product needs by gathering, analyzing, and validating data
- Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by implementing, maintaining and aligning company policies with health and safety regulations
- Identify bottlenecks and adjust material plans to eliminate delays in production
- Measures and evaluates direct reporting of employee performance according to company standards for quality and productivity Provides accurate, meaningful, and timely reviews
- Other duties and tasks as assigned
Required Skills and Abilities:
Excellent communication, team orientation and presentation skills
Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point, etc.)
Safety and Quality oriented with a solution-oriented mindset
Ability to problem solve with planning skills
Demonstrate prompt and regular attendance
Excellent interpersonal skills with a positive attitude
Korean language skill is a plus
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain or related field with 5 years of experience in Production Planning in a Logistics or Production industry OR 7 years of experience in Production or Material Planning is required
Experience in Aluminum or Automotive manufacturing is preferred
Physical Requirements:
While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee will be required to: Sit at a desk for prolonged periods of time and work on a computer; regularly walk and communicate. Must be comfortable working in an industrial manufacturing environment. Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, climb stairs frequently throughout each day, and do some lifting. There are times when you will need to walk throughout the manufacturing plant floor or walk between buildings, which includes but is not limited to walking outside, walking up and down stairs, walking across metal grates and potentially being in contact with slippery surfaces.
