Job Summary:
Lotte Aluminium Materials, USA is seeking a skilled Interpreter to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for facilitating communication between parties who speak Korean and English languages, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in all interpretations in an office and manufacturing setting. Job Responsibilities:
- Provide accurate and complete interpretation services in various settings, to include new hire onboarding, company benefit setup support, medical appointments, legal proceedings, social services meetings, and more.
- Translate spoken statements from one language to another while maintaining the content, context, and style of the original message.
- Review and interpret written documents such as emails, policies, medical records, legal documents, and other materials as needed.
- Communicate effectively to ensure understanding between individuals who do not share a common language.
- Maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all times during interpretation sessions, some interpretation situations may include confidential information about employees, the business, etc.
- Support operational staff on the plant floor by comprehending and interpreting operational work instructions related to manufacturing including but not limited to Safety, Quality, Engineering, Purchasing, IT, and Human Resources.
- Other job duties and tasks as assigned.
- Excellent communication, team orientation and presentation skills
- Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point, etc.)
- Safety and Quality oriented with a solution-oriented mindset
- Ability to problem solve with planning skills
- Demonstrate prompt and regular attendance
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a positive attitude
- Must be self-driven and capable of bringing solutions to the team
- Must be willing to support off shift schedules as required by production
- Fluent in Korean and English including, comprehending, speaking, reading and writing is
- Previous experience as an Interpreter is a plus
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required
- A Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Engineering or equivalent is preferred
- Understanding of cultural norms in the United States and Korea is required
Physical Requirements:
While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee will be required to: sit at a desk for
prolonged periods of time and work on a computer; regularly walk, stand, sit and communicate.
Comfortable working in an industrial manufacturing environment where each day has the potential to
require different physical requirements. Must be able to communicate, sit, stand, walk and climb stairs
for long periods of time and frequently throughout each day. There are times when you will need to
walk throughout the manufacturing plant floor or walk between buildings, this includes but is not
limited to walking outside, walking up and down stairs, walking across metal grates and potentially
being in contact with slippery surfaces.
