What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cook position at Los Angeles Jewish Health?
- Review menus prior to food preparation.
- Inspect special diet trays to ensure the correct diet is served to residents.
- Ensure all dietary procedures are followed in accordance with established policies.
- Assist in establishing the food service production line to ensure meals are prepared on time.
- Prepare meals in accordance with planned menus.
- Prepare and serve meals that are both palatable and visually appealing.
- Cook/prepare meals as necessary.
- Prepare food according to standardized recipes and special diet orders.
- Demonstrate knowledge of kosher dietary laws.
Experience and Skills:
- At least 1 year of experience as a lead cook in a fast-paced restaurant.
- Excellent communication skills with a customer service-oriented approach.
- Strong knife skills.
- Serve Safe certification preferred.
- Good knowledge of reading, writing, and communicating in English.
