Join the Weapons Production Directorate at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) as a Quality Product Verifier-a critical role with a clear path for development and advancement. As a Quality Product Verifier, you will:
You will contribute to engineering R&D activities and operations in support of quality engineering and product acceptance. This includes data review/interpretation and physical inspections of manufactured components and products. Serve as an in-person or live instructor administering assurance training, responsible for creating content, updates, and/or revisions for Achieving Successful Product Acceptance (ASPA) training curriculum.
R&D Engineer 2 ($106,400 - $176,000)
In addition to the above duties, you will draft and maintain Quality Assurance Inspection Procedures for use in delegated verification inspections and product stamping activities.

R&D Engineer 1: Position requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution related to the occupation, combined with 2 years of related experience.
R&D Engineer 2: Position requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution and 4 years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.
Desired Qualifications
Position Commitment: Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. If an employee has not served the required time, they may only apply for Laboratory jobs with documented approval from their Division Leader. The position commitment for this position is 1 year.
Note to Applicants: This position may/will require 24/7 coverage, which could/will involve working a shift/weekend schedule. Employees may be eligible for the shift differential pay when assigned by their manager. Shift/weekend assignments are at the discretion of the manager.

What You Need
R&D Engineer 1
- Technical: Experience in applying engineering, scientific, and mathematical principles to the design, development, manufacturing, inspection, and/or testing of products. Advanced ability to understand, interpret, and communicate drawings and specifications.
- Quality: Thorough experience in comparing quality control results against technical specifications.
- Communication: Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal and communication skills as evidenced by successful interaction with various levels of staff, management, stakeholders, and/or customers.
In addition to the above minimum requirements, the R&D Engineer 2 will:
- Procedure Writing: Serve as an SME and/or procedure owner, responsible for creation, updates, and/or revisions for procedures applicable to the team/organization.
- Product Acceptance: Knowledge of and experience with the NNSA product acceptance process, methods, and requirements, as well as stamping and marking processes.
R&D Engineer 1: Position requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution related to the occupation, combined with 2 years of related experience.
