Admissions Director – Full Time (Nursing Home / Skilled Nursing Facility)

Salary: $52,000–$65,000 per year

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong referral relationships with hospitals, discharge planners, and community partners to support census goals.
  • Maintain an updated and accurate nursing home census and track bed availability.
  • Meet and support census development and annual budget expectations.
  • Respond promptly to online referral and discharge planning systems.
  • Interview prospective residents and families; conduct professional facility tours.
  • Present and review all admission agreements, facility policies, and financial expectations.
  • Coordinate all medical documentation, verify insurance and financial eligibility, and ensure a smooth admissions process.
  • Collaborate closely with Nursing, Business Office, and Social Work teams to ensure timely and coordinated admissions.
  • Complete all administrative and admissions paperwork accurately and on schedule.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Marketing, Social Work, or related field preferred.
  • 1–3 years of experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or healthcare admissions, marketing, or case management strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with hospitals, referral sources, or discharge planners is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, Managed Care, and private insurance eligibility preferred.
  • Strong ability to multitask, prioritize, and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced SNF environment.
  • Proficiency with EHR systems, referral software, and Microsoft Office.
  • Manager on Duty Rotation
