The Engineer 1 position requires 0-5 years of related experience and an accredited bachelor’s degree. Entry Level will be considered. Responsible for applying engineering processes, design criteria, and software applications to support resolution of open engineering issues. Electrical, Mechanical Engineers preferred. Aerospace, Biomedical and Chemical Engineers will be considered based on background and experience. Engineering support will support completion of Comprehensive System Reviews, and support engineering evaluations supporting Hatch and Vogtle Nuclear Plants. There is also potential to support Vogtle 3&4. Job responsibilities include creating a safe work environment by putting safety first, Following established engineering principles and executing assigned work with quality. Skillsets and expertise required for this position include introductory engineering knowledge, basic problem-solving skills, limited discretion making independent decisions based on procedure and review with supervisor, basic discipline software knowledge, strong work ethic, positive attitude, and the ability to build effective relationships with plant staff, design engineering staff and/or vendors.
