Job Title: Machine Operator / Assembler

Position Summary
The Machine Operator / Assembler is responsible for setting up, operating, monitoring, and maintaining production machinery as well as assembling products and components according to standardized procedures and work instructions. This hybrid role ensures products are manufactured and assembled safely, efficiently, and to quality standards. The position requires mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to troubleshoot basic equipment and assembly issues.
Key Responsibilities
Machine Operation Responsibilities
- Set up and operate machinery according to established procedures and safety guidelines.
- Monitor machine performance, adjust settings, and ensure smooth operation.
- Inspect finished parts for quality, identify defects, and make adjustments.
- Perform basic machine maintenance such as cleaning, lubrication, and part replacement.
- Record production data, materials used, and output quantities.
- Troubleshoot minor machine issues and escalate more complex problems.
- Follow safety protocols, including PPE and lockout/tagout procedures.
Assembly Responsibilities
- Assemble parts, components, or products based on specifications, diagrams, or instructions.
- Use hand tools, power tools, jigs, and fixtures to complete assembly tasks.
- Inspect materials and finished products for quality issues.
- Maintain accurate records of assembly tasks, materials, and quantities.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation aligned with 5S/lean principles.
- Assist with troubleshooting assembly issues and provide improvement suggestions.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production goals.
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to operate or assemble industrial equipment.
- Ability to understand written technical instructions, manuals, and verbal directions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform repetitive physical tasks.
- Valid passport.
- Willingness to travel up to 6 times per year for training, support, or production needs.
Preferred
- Previous experience operating machinery or working in assembly.
- Knowledge of mechanical systems, tooling, or industrial equipment.
- Experience with CNC systems or automated equipment.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement processes.
Skills
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Clear communication skills for reporting issues and collaborating with others.
- Ability to meet production quotas and manage time effectively.
- Basic math skills and ability to read measurements.
Work Environment
- Industrial manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, noise, heat, and moving equipment.
- PPE required: safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, etc.
Physical Requirements
- Standing, bending, lifting up to 50lbs, and repetitive motion for extended periods.
- Manual dexterity to operate tools, controls, and components safely.
