Work Days / Work Hours / Days per Year: Monday - Friday; 6.75 hours/day; 189 days per year, plus 10 additional work days as determined by Administration (# of workdays for new-hires are pro-rated to date-of-hire)

Reports to: Building Administrator(s) and/or Executive Director for the Office of Exceptional Children or Designee
Hourly Rate: $18.75 per hour (2026/27 school year base pay rate, Senior Paraprofessionals rate $22.00), plus a $2.00 per hour stipend

Required Certification(s)
- Must be a highly-qualified paraprofessional under the provisions of ESSA and ORC 3319.074 by evidencing one of the following requirements:
- Associate of Arts degree or higher (official transcripts required); OR
- Two years of college totaling 48 or more semester hours (official transcripts required); OR
- Passing score of 456 or higher on the ParaPro Assessment (copy of ParaPro Assessment results).
- AND Must have or be able to obtain an Educational Aid Permit through the Ohio Department of Education.
- Based upon the uniqueness of this position, the following working conditions and contract exemptions apply:
- Staff members will be required to wear designated uniforms;
- Use of perfumes and scented products is prohibited;
- Any tattoos or body art must not be visible;
- Piercings, including facial and ear piercings, must not be worn;
- Staff will be required to perform toileting and diapering of students, as needed;
- Staff will be trained in CPI and physical restraint procedures and expected to perform these procedures, as needed; and
- Staff will receive a duty-free 30-minute break period commencing at the conclusion of the student day.
- Staff will be required to stay in the position for one school year prior to bidding out to another position.
