The LoopRoots Foundation is a nonprofit, tax-exempt organization dedicated to supporting justice-impacted families through transportation, therapy, and technology-driven programs. Our mission is to remove the physical, financial, and emotional barriers that prevent families from maintaining meaningful connections with incarcerated loved ones, accessing mental health care, or navigating reentry.Founded in 2025, the LoopRoots Foundation operates nationally, with an initial focus on underserved communities in Maryland, Arizona, Pennsylvania, New Mexico, California, and Virginia.

Our key initiatives include

• LoopConnect A ride credit sponsorship platform that provides free or subsidized rides to prison visitation facilities, allowing families to stay in contact during incarceration.
• LoopTalk A HIPAA-compliant virtual therapy program offering trauma-informed mental health care to justice-impacted individuals and caregivers, including children.
• LoopTroop Rideshare Partnership We collaborate with the LoopTroop Rideshare platform to ensure families have access to safe, reliable, and culturally competent transportation services.

Mobile & Wearable Application Developer – Wearable Safety Technology Platform

About The Role

LoopRoots Foundation is seeking a Mobile & Wearable Application Developer to build the mobile applications and wearable integrations for our Wearable Safety Technology Platform. This role will develop intuitive, secure, and reliable mobile experiences while connecting wearable devices to our cloud platform through Bluetooth, GPS, real-time communication, and emergency response features.

Working alongside the Technical Lead, Full Stack Software Developer, AI & Machine Learning Engineer, and UI/UX Design Lead, you will help create a seamless experience across mobile devices and wearable technology.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain iOS and Android mobile applications.
• Integrate wearable devices with mobile applications.
• Implement Bluetooth, GPS, location services, and push notifications.
• Develop emergency alert and SOS functionality.
• Integrate mobile applications with backend APIs and cloud services.
• Optimize application performance, reliability, and security.
• Collaborate with the UI/UX Design Lead to deliver an exceptional user experience.
• Test, troubleshoot, and resolve mobile application issues.
• Stay current on mobile technologies and wearable device advancements.
  
  

Qualifications

• Experience developing iOS and Android applications.
• Knowledge of cross-platform or native mobile development frameworks.
• Experience integrating APIs and cloud-based services.
• Familiarity with Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), GPS, and push notification services.
• Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills.
