A well-established energy distribution company is seeking a Director of Sales to lead and grow its Birmingham-based sales organization. This role will oversee sales strategy, team performance, and market expansion efforts while partnering cross-functionally with operations and leadership to drive revenue growth across the region.
What You’ll Do
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of sales representatives to meet and exceed revenue goals
- Build and execute strategic sales plans focused on customer growth, retention, and market expansion
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key accounts, prospective customers, and strategic partners
- Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and customer needs to identify new business opportunities
- Provide sales forecasting, pipeline visibility, and performance reporting to executive leadership
- Partner closely with operations, customer service, and internal teams to ensure excellent customer delivery and service execution
- Recruit, onboard, and develop high-performing sales talent
- Foster a performance-driven, customer-focused sales culture
- Represent the organization at industry events, networking functions, and customer meetings
What We’re Looking For
- 5 years of sales leadership experience
- Proven track record of leading teams and consistently exceeding revenue targets
- Strong leadership, coaching, and team development experience
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Analytical mindset with the ability to use sales data and market insights to drive decision-making
- Comfortable with regional travel as needed
