We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a wide range of HVAC systems across commercial and residential properties. Your expertise will ensure optimal indoor air quality, energy efficiency, and system reliability. Responsibilities
- Install new HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and ventilation systems following schematics and design specifications.
- Perform routine maintenance on HVAC equipment to ensure efficient operation and extend system lifespan.
- Troubleshoot and repair HVAC/R systems using hand tools, electrical diagnostics tools such as ohmmeters, and mechanical troubleshooting techniques.
- Diagnose issues related to electrical systems, refrigeration components, plumbing connections, and mechanical parts to identify root causes quickly.
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and building automation system controls to facilitate accurate repairs or installations.
- Conduct comprehensive system inspections and perform repairs on mechanical systems such as boilers, ammonia refrigeration units, and air conditioning systems.
- Maintain detailed service records, logs of repairs performed, parts used, and system performance reports for accountability and future reference.
- Collaborate with property management teams to ensure HVAC system compliance with safety standards including EPA regulations for refrigerants.
- Assist with HVAC system design modifications or upgrades to improve energy efficiency or meet new building codes.
- Operate company vehicles safely as a van driver when transporting tools or equipment to job sites.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an HVAC technician with a solid understanding of HVAC/R systems repair, installation, and maintenance.
- Construction experience or background in mechanical systems repair is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of schematics, electrical diagnostics, plumbing connections, refrigeration cycles, and building automation systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues efficiently using appropriate tools such as ohmmeters and hand tools.
- Mechanical knowledge related to HVAC system installation, repair of appliances, boilers, and property maintenance tasks.
- Valid EPA certification for refrigerant handling; additional certifications in HVAC design or ammonia refrigeration are a plus.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients or property managers.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in various environments requiring physical activity like climbing ladders or working in confined spaces.
- A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record for safe operation of company vehicles.
