Job Description:
Longwood University invites qualified applicants to apply for the position of Programmer Analyst (FA340) in Information Technology Services. The Programmer Analyst works as part of the Custom Apps and Software Application Services teams to provide innovative solutions and excellent customer service while supporting our in-house and third-party systems.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
- Support DocFinity workflow, eForms, and build-out
- Develop and maintain custom web applications interfacing with both students and faculty/staff, including systems supporting student move-in tracking, business student internship workflows, media lab equipment checkout, and LancerNet password management
- Implement and support third-party integrations, applications, and processes
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems or a related field or equivalent combination of training and work experience related to job duties
- Considerable knowledge in the systems analysis, design, and development processes employing industry best practices
- Considerable knowledge in programming, debugging, and analysis of automated processes
- Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service while interacting effectively with internal and external customers
- Analytical skills
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Experience with web application development and demonstrated proficiency with some combination of HTML, CSS including Bootstrap or related framework, JavaScript, Microsoft, NET web development with related IIS configuration, PHP web development, and related Apache configuration
- Experience with database development on some of the following: SQL, Oracle database and PL/SQL, MS SQL Server and T-SQL, and MySQL objects and programming
- Experience working in higher education preferred
- Experience with Ellucian Banner and/or Ellucian Degree Works preferred
- Experience with Git revision control and GitLab (or similar git platform) preferred
- Basic Linux skills preferred: SSH access, command line tools, files and permissions, interacting with processes and services, etc.
- Experience with DocFinity document management and workflow preferred
