Longwood Gardens has a 12-monthCooperative Education Program (Co-Op Program) opportunity for a motivated student specializing in Electrical Controls. This is a great opportunity for a student to complement their classroom learning during the academic year with hands on experience. This opportunity will offer a hands-on learning experiences by supporting our Electrical & Controls team This position focuses on maintaining and upgrading electrical systems throughout our conservatories and buildings. Students enrolled in their senior year of high school or in an undergraduate technical college are invited to apply.
Responsibilities:
- Assisting in maintaining and upgrading Garden-wide electrical systems
- Using hand tools, power tools, and electrical metering equipment
- Supporting with routine work orders, including electrical repairs and troubleshooting, lighting, building automated systems, motors, office alterations
The schedule for the program: From June 2025 to August 2025, the schedule will be Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM-3:30 PM. From September 2025 to May 2026 the schedule would be 2 weeks per month, 8 hours a day, per your school’s Co-Op Program.
Qualifications:
- A current enrollment in a technical high school/program
- An interest in electrical systems or related technical fields
- An ability to work with tools and equipment with training provided
- A willingness and ability to perform hands-on tasks in a team setting
- A valid driver’s license
