We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Dietary Aide/Cook to join our team in providing exceptional nutritional care and meal service for our residents. Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve meals that meet dietary requirements, ensuring adherence to nutritional guidelines and safety standards.
- Assist with food production, including portioning, plating, and presentation of meals for residents.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, following proper procedures for cleaning and sanitation.
- Support the dietary department by bussing tables, cleaning work areas, and maintaining a sanitized kitchen environment.
- Follow safe lifting practices when handling heavy items or bulk food supplies, ensuring workplace safety at all times.
- Work collaboratively with nursing staff to accommodate special dietary needs and assist with meal delivery to residents.
- Maintain accurate records of food handling, sanitation procedures, and inventory levels in compliance with health regulations.
Skills
- Previous experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of food production, preparation techniques, and food safety protocols such as JCAHO standards.
- Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment and adhering to dietary requirements for diverse populations.
- Excellent manual handling skills with an understanding of safe lifting practices and heavy lifting procedures.
- Knowledge of nutrition principles relevant to geriatric patients and ability to support dietary plans accordingly.
- Exceptional customer service skills with a caring attitude towards residents’ needs and preferences.
