Job Summary
We are seeking a Lead Data Scientist to join our healthcare analytics team. This role will lead the analysis of complex, structured and unstructured data sets using advanced statistical methods and machine learning techniques to enable data-driven decision-making. The Lead Data Scientist will work closely with cross-functional teams, provide actionable insights for complex business problems, and present findings to executive leadership.
The ideal candidate will have strong leadership experience, proven ability in building large-scale data sets, and expertise in healthcare data analytics.
Responsibilities
- Lead high-priority data science projects from inception to completion, delivering actionable insights.
- Analyze large, complex data sets (structured and unstructured) using advanced statistical and machine learning methods.
- Develop and apply predictive models, algorithms, and data mining tools to support business strategies.
- Present insights and findings clearly to C-level executives and key stakeholders.
- Mentor junior data scientists and provide technical leadership within the team.
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure data accuracy, governance, and compliance.
- Maintain and optimize existing data models while ensuring scalability and efficiency.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related STEM field (Required)
- Master’s Degree in Data Science (Preferred)
Experience:
- 7 years of experience in data science, analytics, or related roles.
- Project leadership experience managing data science initiatives.
- Healthcare experience (hospital, medical informatics, EHR data, or health IT) preferred.
Technical Skills:
- Advanced knowledge of statistical modeling and machine learning techniques (e.g., clustering, decision trees, neural networks).
- Proficiency in SQL and statistical analysis tools (Python, R).
- Expertise in building and managing large data sets and working with incomplete data sources.
- Strong ability to translate data findings into actionable business recommendations.
- AWS Certification (Required).
- Cogito experience (Required).
Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication skills for presenting to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical reasoning, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities.
