Responsibilities
- Perform thorough cleaning of guest rooms, including making beds, dusting, vacuuming, and sanitizing surfaces to uphold cleanliness standards.
- Maintain cleanliness of public areas such as hallways, lobbies, restrooms, and recreational spaces by sweeping, mopping, and disinfecting floors regularly.
- Handle cleaning equipment and chemical agents safely in accordance with safety data sheets (SDS) and hotel protocols.
- Manage manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting of furniture, linens, and cleaning supplies with proper technique to ensure safety.
- Follow hotel emergency procedures promptly and accurately in case of incidents or safety concerns.
- Ensure all sanitation practices meet health regulations through diligent use of cleaning agents and equipment.
- Provide excellent customer service by responding promptly to guest requests related to housekeeping needs and maintaining a friendly attitude at all times.
Requirements
- Proven janitorial or custodial experience within a hotel or hospitality environment is preferred.
- Knowledge of floor care techniques including chemical handling for different surfaces.
- Familiarity with cleaning equipment such as vacuums, buffers, mops, and scrubbers.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and effectively during routine cleaning tasks.
- Strong understanding of hotel housekeeping management practices and sanitation standards.
- Excellent customer service skills with a positive attitude towards guests and team members.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions related to chemical agent handling and safety procedures.
- Prior experience with hotel emergency procedures is advantageous.
