What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pharmacy Data Entry Technician position at Long Term Care Rx?
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Enters prescriptions into Framework LTC that are received via fax, telephone, and/or mail accurately and on schedule.
- Calculates and verifies the correct dosage based on the prescription.
- Enters new and refill orders in a timely and accurate manner, opening fax once and completing. Work to increase percent edited of percent opened maintaining comparable completions to rest of POD technicians.
- Batch and print labels following daily schedule. Maintains comparable share of work to other POD technicians.
- Updates forms received monthly to ensure orders are accurate before printing each month.
- Accurately and timely processes forms for assigned facilities on a monthly basis.
- Prints medical records for facilities each month and when needed.
- Obtains signatures from physicians for all C-II prescriptions received.
- Answers incoming calls on two rings or less and assists with new prescriptions, questions about medication, judgmental decision, etc., and directs to Pharmacist when appropriate.
- Follow the assigned daily Pilot schedule, adhering to all Pilot duties.
- Expedites prescription processing by performing all duties necessary and allowable, by policy or law.
- Works independently meets deadlines and is flexible and accommodating when called upon to help in other areas.
- Performs tasks quickly, accurately and efficiently

- Certificates, Licenses, Registrations – Valid Pharmacy Technician License
- Education and/or Experience – Computer skills recommended, pharmacy experience recommended
- Mathematical Skills – Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
- Computer Skills – To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of computers, browsers such as Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, etc., Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access. Knowledge of Framework LTC database required.
