Duties
- Assist with animal restraint, handling, and pet care to ensure safety and comfort during examinations and procedures
- Maintain cleanliness and aseptic techniques in treatment areas, surgical suites, and kennels to uphold infection control standards
- Provide front desk support by greeting clients, scheduling appointments, and managing patient records with professionalism
- Perform animal husbandry tasks such as feeding, grooming, medicating and monitoring vital signs to promote optimal health
- Support diagnostic procedures by understanding veterinary terminology, assisting with laboratory tests, and submitting lab work
Qualifications
- Enthusiasm for working with animals is essential
- Experience in veterinary clinics or as a veterinary assistant is highly desirable but not required; familiarity with veterinary terminology is a plus
- Ability to perform animal restraint safely and effectively across various species appreciated
- Strong communication skills for interacting with clients and team members professionally
- Capable of following aseptic techniques during clinical procedures and medication administration
