Head Coach - Women's Basketball

Long Island University (LIU) seeks a dedicated and experienced Head Women’s Basketball Coach to lead our women’s basketball program. The ideal candidate will have a strong backgroundincoaching,exceptionalleadershipskills,andacommitmenttodevelopingstudent-athletes both on and off the field.

Key Responsibilities

• TeamLeadership:Developandimplementeffectivetrainingprogramstoenhanceplayer skills, team performance, and overall athlete development. Recruitment: Identify, evaluate, and recruit student-athletes who align with the university’s academic and athletic standards.
• GameStrategy:Preparegamestrategiesandin-gamecoaching tomaximizeteam performance in competitive environments.
• Student-AthleteDevelopment:Fosteraninclusiveandsupportiveenvironmentthat prioritizes the academic and personal growth of student-athletes.
• Collaboration:Workcloselywiththeathletic department,includingtheathleticdirector and support staff, to ensure compliance with NCAA and conference regulations.
• BudgetManagement:Managethe basketballprogram’sbudget,including fundraising effortsandallocationof resources.
• Community Engagement: Represent the basketball program at campus events, communityfunctions,andmediaengagementstopromotetheteamanduniversity.
• PerformanceAnalysis:Analyzegamefootage andperformancemetrics toidentifyareas for improvement and develop strategic plans.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’sdegree inSportsManagement,PhysicalEducation,orarelated field; Master’s degree preferred.
• Previouscoachingexperienceatthecollegiatelevel,withasuccessfultrack recordof leading teams.
• StrongunderstandingofNCAAregulationsandcommitmenttoethicalcoaching practices.
• Excellentcommunication,interpersonal,andorganizational skills.
• Abilitytomotivateandinspirestudent-athleteswhilefosteringteamwork and sportsmanship.
