Required Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in medical insurance collections.
- Proven experience handling a wide range of insurance denials.
- Experience with Independent Dispute Resolution (IDR) billing is a plus.
- Reviewing Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) to ensure accurate contracted and non-contracted payments.
- Processing daily correspondence to ensure timely and appropriate claim resolution.
- Preparing and submitting written appeals with supporting documentation.
- Requesting and obtaining medical records to support appeals.
- Managing accounts with receivable aging reports to resolve outstanding balances.
- Meeting regularly with physicians to review A/R status and address problem accounts.
- Preparing refund request letters and write-off requests with supporting documentation.
- Communicating directly with insurance carriers regarding claims adjudication.
- Performing additional duties as assigned, including managing special aging accounts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Excellent organizational and communication skills with strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
- Proven ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced setting
- Proficient in computer applications with solid analytical and basic mathematical skills
- Working knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding
- Understanding of in-network and out-of-network claim processing guidelines and protocols
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification plus.
Location: Garden City (Hybrid Schedule)
(Training will be conducted at our Garden City location for a period of 1–3 months).
Compensation: $25.00-$28.00
