Overview
We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Kitchen Staff to join our vibrant food service team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, providing excellent customer service and ensuring the smooth operation of our café or quick-service restaurant. Ideal candidates will have a passion for food, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to food safety and sanitation standards. Prior experience in food preparation, cashiering, or the food industry is preferred but not required, as training will be provided.
Duties
- Prepare and assemble food items according to established recipes and standards
- Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for order processing and cash handling
- Serve customers efficiently while maintaining high levels of customer service
- Manage cashier responsibilities including cash handling, processing payments, and giving accurate change
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of workstations, dining areas, and kitchen equipment in compliance with food safety regulations
- Assist with bussing tables, restocking supplies, and ensuring the dining area is welcoming
- Uphold food handling standards and ensure proper sanitation practices are followed at all times
- Support inventory management through proper food storage and rotation
- Upsell menu items to enhance customer experience and increase sales opportunities
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service during peak hours
Skills
- Experience in food preparation, food service, or working in a quick-service or fast-food restaurant environment
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS preferred
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during busy periods
- Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math, and grocery store operations
- Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation procedures, and proper food handling techniques
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment with good communication skills
- Previous experience in serving or cashiering roles is advantageous but not mandatory
- Ability to adapt quickly in a dynamic setting while maintaining attention to detail
