- Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and highly organized Evening Dispatcher to join our team, focusing on local intermodal drayage operations. The ideal candidate will be an excellent multi-tasker with proven experience in transportation management software, ELD/GPS systems, and professional communication tools. This role is critical in ensuring the smooth and efficient execution of evening load assignments.
Key Responsibilities
- Dispatch Operations: Assign and manage local intermodal drayage loads to drivers throughout the evening shift, ensuring timely pickup and delivery.
- System Management: Utilize Transportation Management Systems (TMS) such as Loadstop for accurate load entry, tracking, and management.
- Data Entry & Reporting: Maintain up-to-date and accurate records using Excel spreadsheets for tracking critical metrics and driver performance.
- Compliance Monitoring: Monitor Electronic Logging Devices (ELD) and GPS systems to ensure drivers are compliant with hours-of-service regulations and are following designated routes.
- Communication: Handle professional correspondence with drivers, customers, and internal staff via Outlook email; provide updates on load status and resolve issues as they arise.
- Problem-Solving: Proactively address and resolve operational challenges, including delays, equipment issues, and driver availability changes.
- Multitasking: Successfully manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing urgent matters effectively.
Required Experience & Skills
- Prior experience in a Dispatcher role, preferably within the intermodal drayage or local transportation industry.
- Proficiency with transportation management software (TMS), including experience with platforms like Loadstop is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of ELD and GPS tracking systems.
- Strong competency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and Outlook email.
- Exceptional multi-tasking and organizational skills.
- Ability to work the specified evening hours.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
