Description

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Read and understand engineered plan's locations both new and old
  • Lift/ Push/ Pull 50-80 Lbs. throughout the day
  • Sitting/ Driving for extended periods of time
  • Move Aggregate and grade area according to plans and/or directions of supervisor, without constant supervision and often under pressure for deadlines
  • Responsible for operating any number of heavy construction equipment including but not limited to:
  • Dozers
  • Scrappers, track hoes
  • Graders
  • Back hoes
  • Work nights, weekends and holidays, if necessary, oftentimes 12 or more hours per day
  • Use safe driving techniques while operating equipment
  • Complete daily equipment inspections and report any malfunctions with equipment immediately
  • Perform duties in extreme weather conditions
  • Walk up to 25 yards from personal vehicle to equipment on all types of terrain. IE mud, snow, ice, dirt, pavement
  • Move, Drag and hook steel chains on bulldozer and to another piece of equipment to move machinery
  • Step up and climb steep stairs into equipment
  • Ability to work safely in all types of weather conditions
  • Wear personal protective equipment while on location
  • Write and/or review Job Safety Analysis for each location or jobsite. Read, Print and Sign your name showing you understand the JSA.

  • At Lone Tree Services, we believe that training and safety are key to success. We couple our new employee orientation training with a requirement to complete PEC Safeland, OSHA10, and CPR First aid. All employees participate in weekly training (26 hours annually) conducted by their supervisor/leader with added daily safety meetings. We continually evaluate and upgrade our training to stay ahead of the desires of our customers and our own goal of developing a highly professional workforce.

    Lone Tree Services assigns safety responsibilities to every manager in every location. The Safety Manager monitors compliance with the safety manual, processes, and training. Full compliance is required for all subcontractors and is strictly monitored. Our innovative safety program has been written in compliance with federal, state, and local requirements such as OSHA, DOT, and EPA standards. We provide initial safety and orientation training reinforced with daily and weekly safety instruction and inspection. We meet or exceed recommended experience modification rates with many companies.

    Employees may also be required to obtain other site-specific safety credentials as mandated by clients or regulatory authorities.

    Requirements

    QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

    Operator 1: Less than two years’ experience. SOP on mowers, skid steer, farm tractors, and mini loader. Must possess a valid driver’s license.

    Operator 2: Possess a valid driver’s license and a clean MVR. Has an SOP on file for company owned pickups and fuel hauling. SOP on file for operator 1 for any one of the following: Motor grader, loader, dozer, scraper, and less than 3 years’ experience at level 2.

    Operator 3: Possess everything from Operator levels 1 & 2 plus more than 3 years’ experience at a level 2 and or/ multiple SOP’s on file and no safety violations for six months. Supervise and lead crew.

    Operator 4: Possess all equipment SOP’s available at Lone Tree Services and at least one year at a level 3. Able to layout project site and supervise/ lead crew. Ability to track crew time, show strong leadership skills, and report accurately to Management. No safety violations.

    GENERAL JOB HAZARDS

    • Employees are required to drive in extreme weather conditions such as heavy snow, snow packed roads, icy roads, strong winds, and any other weather conditions that could be considered hazardous.
    • Employees are required to enter and exit their truck throughout the day - injuries resulting from slips, trips, and falls are common. Employees are required to utilize the three points of contact system while entering or exiting their vehicles
    • Hazards from other motorists. Drivers must exercise safe driving practices
    • Site specific hazards on location
