- Follow all safety‑sensitive protocols and operate equipment in compliance with company, OSHA, and project safety standards.
- Operate heavy and light construction equipment including bulldozers, front‑end loaders, excavators, rollers, backhoes, and related machinery in accordance with all company safety programs.
- Perform earthwork operations such as excavation, trenching, grading, backfilling, slope cutting, ditch shaping, and structure demolition.
- Install underground utilities including sewer and water lines, storm drains, and RCP/CM pipe while working safely around existing utilities.
- Use GPS machine controls and follow grade stakes, plans, and directions from supervisors to achieve required tolerances.
- Conduct daily equipment inspections including pre‑check, post‑trip, fueling, and routine maintenance such as greasing, cleaning, and fluid checks.
- Complete daily equipment status reports and promptly report defects, hazards, or repair needs to supervision.
- Use hand tools such as wrenches and other tools required for minor adjustments or maintenance.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas around equipment and active construction zones.
- Perform physical motions required for equipment operation, including climbing, stretching, sitting, steering, twisting, kneeling, and squatting.
- Lift and carry materials up to 100 pounds as needed for equipment support or ground tasks.
- Work in varying weather conditions, including exposure to heat, cold, dust, and uneven terrain.
- Assist crews with labor tasks when equipment operation is not required.
- Travel to and from job sites and work overtime as needed to meet project schedules.
