Essential Job Functions:
- Disseminates directives, orders and assignments to subordinates.
- Reviews all reports of violations of policy and procedures.
- Should be familiar with the operations of the Security Department and Lone Star Park.
- Assists in the implementation of any and all policies and procedures as set forth.
- Assigns security officers to various posts and ensure that all posts are covered.
- Is courteous, attentive, informative and responsive to situations
- Assigns, supervises and trains security officers.
- Operates telephone, radio and other electronic equipment.
- Interacts with the general public in a friendly, courteous and informative manner.
- Wears and maintains uniform according to Lone Star Park requirements.
- Meets and maintains licensing criteria of the Texas Commission on Private Security.
- Operates company motor vehicles.
- Oversees the daily workflow, schedules, and assignments of security staff including security guards and desk clerks.
- Prepares and conducts training for new hires and current staff including training on workplace searches, drug and alcohol procedures, and related safety and security topics.
- Takes proactive steps to provide a safe and secure working environment to staff and visitors.
- Provides specialized security for and monitors access to limited and restricted access areas such as inventory areas, network equipment areas, and employee files and confidential records.
- Conducts regular walk-throughs and security inspections for assigned facilities.
- Where government projects are involved, serves as a liaison to government agencies concerning project security; assists with security clearance processing for employees working on government classified programs.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Follows safety policies and procedures in accordance with company standards and state/federal rules and regulations.
- Obtains first aid, CPR, and AED certification as scheduled, including any additional emergency medical training in accordance with job responsibilities and operational requirements.
- Attends all emergency preparedness, safety training as scheduled. Disseminates information and assignments as needed.
- Meets and maintains licensing criteria of the Texas Commission on Private Security and the Texas Racing Commission.
- Maintains strict confidentiality and high integrity.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Wears and maintains uniform and equipment assigned according to Lone Star Park requirements.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year college/technical; or 3 years related experience and/or training; or combination.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Experience in law enforcement, military security or other protective service work required. Valid driver’s license required.
- Extensive knowledge of fire prevention, safety, and security operations
- Excellent management and supervisory skills
- Proven track record as a team leader with an understanding of management practices
- Analytical problem-solving skills with an impeccable attention to detail
- Ability to set overall strategy and drive process improvement
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to collaborate and build a consensus in a high-pressure environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel)
- Working knowledge of Lone Star Park, its facilities, and the Security operation.
- Previous experience in law enforcement, military security or other protective service work preferred.
- Ability to apply the principles of supervision to direct the work activities of subordinates. A minimum of one year supervisory experience preferred.
- Ability to motivate and supervise security personnel.

- Four years of safety/security experience required, including four years supervisory experience in operations or related field
- Advanced training or certification in safety and security preferred
Licenses/Certifications/Other:
- Must be able to pass a background check and receive a license or permit from any Regulatory Agency, if applicable to perform the essential job functions
- Texas Racing Commission License (TXRC)
- Texas Commission of Private Security (TCPS)
- Level III Commissioned Officer License
- Breath Alcohol Certification
- Valid Driver License
