The Behind-the-Scenes Hero Who Keeps Things Moving

Be the quiet force that makes a big difference in the daily lives of residents and staff. As the Laundry Porter, you will support the comfort, safety, and well-being of our senior living community by completing a variety of hands-on tasks, from trash removal and supply delivery to room set-ups and moving assistance. Every task you complete helps ensure our spaces stay clean, organized, and ready for life to happen.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Support Resident Moves: Assist with internal elder relocations in nursing and personal care areas; move furniture and equipment safely and efficiently.
• Reliable Delivery Service: Make timely deliveries of mail, packages, and essential items to various locations across the campus.
• Maintain Clean Standards: Power wash trash and recycling containers on a scheduled basis to ensure cleanliness and hygiene.
• Team Support: Receive and carry out daily assignments from the supervisor to support Housekeeping operations as needed.
• Be Prepared: Gather all necessary supplies and equipment before proceeding to your assigned work area for a smooth and efficient workflow.
• Use the Right Tools: Always follow proper procedures, using the correct chemicals and equipment for each specific task.
• Window Treatment Updates: Change curtains, blinds, draperies, and shower curtains as assigned to keep spaces fresh and welcoming.
• Report Equipment Issues: Immediately notify your supervisor of any equipment needing repair to minimize downtime.
• Identify Hazards: Stay alert and report any safety concerns or hazards to the supervisor to maintain a safe environment.
• Stay Organized: Keep equipment, carts, closets, and cleaning areas clean, neat, and well-organized at all times.
• Inventory Support: Conduct linen and supply counts as directed, helping to ensure inventory is accurate and well-stocked.
• Tech-Savvy Operations: Use a cell phone or tablet to manage your daily assignments and stay connected with the team.
• Preventive Maintenance: Keep all equipment in good working conditions, performing basic preventive maintenance as needed.
• Wheelchair Hygiene: Power wash wheelchairs monthly as part of scheduled maintenance to support resident comfort and cleanliness.
• Closet Inventory Management: Regularly monitor and restock housekeeping closets in the Main Building and Green Houses.
• Supply Delivery: Deliver inventory supplies throughout the Main Building and Green Houses as required to support team needs.

What You Bring to the Table

• Valid PA Driver’s License
• Capable and Ready: Able to successfully perform all key responsibilities of the role with reliability and care.
• Committed to Safety: Strictly follows universal precautions and uses personal protective equipment (PPE) to ensure a safe environment, especially when there is potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens.
