Controller

We are seeking an experienced Plant Controller to join an established manufacturing organization in Tennessee. This position will oversee plant-level financial operations, support cost management initiatives, and partner with operational leadership to improve financial performance.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing accounting, cost analysis, financial reporting, and process improvement. Experienced Senior Plant Accountants and Cost Accounting Managers looking to advance their careers are also encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee financial reporting, month-end close, and general accounting activities.
• Analyze manufacturing costs, including materials, labor, overhead, and production variances.
• Manage inventory accounting, reconciliations, and cost controls.
• Prepare budgets, forecasts, and financial performance reports.
• Partner with operations leadership to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and accounting policies.
• Support financial process improvements and reporting enhancements.
• Collaborate with finance leadership on strategic initiatives.
• Assist with audits, capital expenditure analysis, and inventory management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• 5 years of progressive accounting or finance experience.
• Manufacturing accounting experience required, including cost accounting and inventory exposure.
• Previous Plant Controller, Senior Plant Accountant, Cost Accounting Manager, or similar experience preferred.
• CPA or CMA highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
• ERP systems experience and advanced Excel skills.
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently in a hands-on accounting role.
