Loloi Rugs is seeking a skilled Staff Accountant to join our team. The Staff Accountant would ideally have experience in Accounts Payable and/or Accounts Receivable, oversight of accounting processes, maintaining records of transactions, creating a digital organization system, ensuring applicable taxes are paid or applied, and ensuring transactions are properly reconciled to the accounting system for record.
As a critical member of the finance team, the Staff Accountant will have responsibility for ensuring day-to-day transactions are proper and accounted for to close the month-end process.
This role is based onsite 5 days a week (M-F) at our Dallas, TX headquarters.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in day-to-day banking operations updating in excel, reports
- Reconcile bank statements and assist with Month-end close process
- Prepare general ledger entries by maintaining and recording records of transactions
- Analyze current procedures and recommend changes to develop and implement best practice accounting procedures
- Credit card coding and reconciliation with invoices/receipts
- Prepare documents for audits other financial-related duties as needed
- Maintain accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions
- Ensures organization's internal controls are adhered to for A/P and A/R
- Prepare and file sales & property tax as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Experience and Education
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business administration – Preferred
- 3 years of accounting experience
- Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Thorough knowledge of Financial Statements and their components
- Experience with manual reconciliations and journal entries
- Strong attention to detail, highly organized, strict confidentiality
- Excellent use of Microsoft Office products
