Department: Supply Chain

Reports to: Supply Chain Manager

Status: Non-Exempt

Shift: Full-time, Monday - Friday

Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive BOM Coordinator to support our product development and manufacturing operations. This role is essential in creating, updating, and managing accurate Bills of Material (BOMs) for our line of car hauler products.

Working closely with the Supply Chain and Change Management teams, this person will ensure all product changes are reflected in the BOM. Additionally, the BOM Coordinator will serve as a link between engineering, supply chain, and fabrication, helping convert engineering BOMs into manufacturing-ready BOMs adapted to our production environment.

Initially, the role will rely on Microsoft Excel and Office Suite, with the expectation to transition to a Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system within the next 18–24 months.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create, update, and maintain detailed Bills of Material (engineering and manufacturing versions) for all product lines.
  • Collaborate with design engineers to integrate design updates and engineering change requests into BOM structures.
  • Translate engineering BOMs (EBOMs) into manufacturing BOMs (MBOMs), adapted for supply chain and production needs.
  • Interface regularly with the fabrication and supply chain teams to align BOM content with real-world production flow and inventory constraints.
  • Track and apply Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and maintain version control documentation.
  • Support production, purchasing, and inventory teams by ensuring accurate and accessible BOM data.
  • Assist in the future transition to PLM and ERP platforms, including data migration, testing, and user training.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be eighteen years of age or older.
  • Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
  • Completion of a high school diploma and/or GED.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology, or related field preferred.
  • 2–4 years of experience in a manufacturing or engineering support role working with BOMs and CAD/PLM systems.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills to manage complex product structures and revisions.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, supply chain, fabrication).
  • Willingness to learn new systems (PLM/ERP); training will be provided.
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes, mechanical components, or industrial production is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

Work Environment:

  • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
