Operations Manager- Trucking & Dispatchers

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for the planning, organizing, direction, reviewing and evaluating the day-to-day 24 hour dispatch trucking operations. Supervises the daily work of the assigned dispatch personnel to plan, execute, monitor and manage professionally the assigned drivers/equipment.

• Manages the daily operation ensuring customer satisfaction is successfully achieved
• Provide solid leadership for Logistics and Operation Coordinators and handles escalations and issues as needed
• Responsible for setting department goals, monitoring and controlling work flow and ensuring an effective operating department
• Ensure efficiency and safety of day-to-day operations for the entire fleet of tractors, trailers and driver force
• Monitor CSA Safety scores and implement training and disciplinary actions to resolve negative trends
• Work with Safety Department and keeping up to date with tags, titles, registrations, Heavy-Use tax, and all other taxes and fees required by DOT and US law to operate a motor carrier
• Work with Fleet Department Manager and mechanics keeping up to date with truck/trailer maintenance
• Coach, train, and develop dispatch team to exceed goals with 8-10 dispatchers
• Driver Management (ability to motivate and issue corrective actions) of over 50 company drivers.

Job Requirements

• GPS tracking software knowledge
• Able to conduct driver and dispatch meetings
• Trucking industry management experience required
• Excellent communication skills both oral and written
• Proficient in Microsoft packages including Excel, Word
• Proven organizational and managing skills
