The successful candidate will serve as a technical mentor, training field technicians in preventive and corrective maintenance practices, and collaborating closely with suppliers on acquisitions and service contracts.
Responsibilities
- Crane Procurement and Supplier Relations
- Maintain strong relationships with key crane suppliers (Liebherr, Konecranes, Manitowoc, Link-Belt, Kobelco, etc.).
- Collaborate with Procurement and Operations teams to develop requests for bids aligned with LOGISTEC’s crane needs.
- Review and analyze quotes for crane purchases, attachments, rehabs, and repair projects.
- Maintenance and Reliability
- Oversee inspection, maintenance review, and certification tracking of cranes and related attachments.
- Conduct field reliability analyses, supporting performance evaluation and replacement planning.
- Coach and train local crane teams on predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance procedures.
- Safety and Leadership
- Champion a culture of safety for crane operators and maintenance technicians.
- Lead LOGISTEC’s Crane Team Community, fostering collaboration and knowledge-sharing.
- Stay informed about grants and financing opportunities to support crane replacement initiatives.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 10 years of experience managing crane maintenance projects, with a strong emphasis on power, control systems, and reliability engineering.
- Advanced diagnostic capabilities in electrical, programming, and signal issues.
- Experience working with OEM telematic suites and control systems.
- P.Eng license required
- Electrician license preferred
- TWIC card preferred
- English required; proficiency in Spanish or French is an asset.
- Travel: Frequent travel to LOGISTEC sites in Canada, the U.S., and Mexico.
- Conditions: Exposure to outdoor environments—heat, rain, wind, cold, and high humidity.
- Schedule: Flexible hours with occasional weekend work during emergencies.
- Pace: Requires strong prioritization and the ability to work under pressure, particularly when troubleshooting cranes that are out of service.
