What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Grower/Propagator position at Logee's Plants for Home and Garden?
Logee's Plants for Home and Garden is a 4th generation horticultural business that grows and propagates its own plants, since 1892. We are currently looking for someone with a love for plants who wants to learn from the bottom up about horticulture.
The Assistant Grower will work with the growers as an assistant to help weed, water, pot and repot, plant, untangle vines, and any other task related to plants or the company's wellness.
The Propagator will learn techniques, whether from cuttings, grafting, layering or sowing seeds. The ideal candidate will work to either pot up plants from plugs or propagate plants and learn how to root and grow plants from the ground up.
Reliability, maturity, team player, able to follow directions well are other important characteristics for this position. We offer a great environment of like-minded individuals who share their knowledge and enthusiasm for plants. Also, these entry level jobs are the gateway to a career in horticulture and have potential for advancement within Logee's.
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, 7am - 3pm
- Weekend availability
- This position is seasonal with the potential opportunity for a permanent position at the end of the season
