What are the responsibilities and job description for the Custodian - School Year Position-185 days position at Logansport Community School Corporation?
Responsibilities include trash collection and removal, sweeping, mopping, and dusting. Regular cleaning of plumbing fixtures, window glass, and stairways also required. This job requires occasional heavy lifting and some knowledge of industrial cleaning equipment and appliances. Must be able to climb a ladder to assist with changing ceiling tiles and light bulbs in ceiling fixtures. Ability to make minor repairs to building interiors and exteriors as needed. Assist with the removal of snow and ice anytime of the day or night to include weekends and holidays. Assist with after school athletic events when requested. Maintain playground spaces and equipment. Perform related duties as assigned.
Must have the ability to push, pull, lift and carry items weighing more than 10 pounds. Must be able to bend over, reach downward or upward, and to wring a wet mop. Must maintain storage areas in an organized fashion. Maintain school facilities and grounds in condition of operating excellence, cleanliness and safety so that full educational use of the facility can take place. Mechanical skills and previous working and maintenance experience with landscaping/janitorial equipment will be beneficial. Floor care experience is beneficial. Must be able to work alone or as part of a team.
High school diploma or equivalent and must have the ability to communicate with fellow employees and read English.
