What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounts Payable Manager position at Logan Search Group?
Our client is seeking an experienced, hands-on Accounts Payable Manager to lead and transform a high-volume, multi-entity Accounts Payable function. This is a leadership opportunity for someone who enjoys building structure, driving accountability, and improving processes while remaining actively involved in the day-to-day operation.
Reporting to the Controller, the AP Manager will oversee a team of 14 professionals, including one AP Supervisor, and play a key role in rebuilding and strengthening the department. This is not a role for someone looking to simply delegate—success requires a leader who is willing to roll up their sleeves, lead by example, and ensure the work gets done.
The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced environments, has deep expertise in Workday, vendor management, reconciliations, and GAAP, and understands what it takes to lead a high-performing team through change.

-
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 14 Accounts Payable professionals, including direct oversight of an AP Supervisor.

-
Monitor departmental performance through key metrics while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and accuracy.
-
Partner closely with Accounting and Finance leadership to support audits and cross-functional initiatives.
-
Drive process improvements and help rebuild the department through stronger controls, accountability, and operational excellence.

Serve as the primary escalation point for vendors and internal business partners.

7 years of progressive Accounts Payable experience, including leadership responsibility.

Strong knowledge of GAAP and Accounts Payable best practices.
-
Experience working within a multi-entity organization.
-
Extensive experience with vendor reconciliations and vendor master management.

Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Proven ability to lead through change, establish accountability, and improve operational performance.
What We're Looking For
This opportunity is best suited for a leader who takes ownership, sets high standards, and isn't afraid to get involved in the details. The environment is collaborative but demanding, and the expectation is that leadership remains engaged until priorities are completed—not simply until the end of the scheduled workday.
If you're looking for a role where you can make a lasting impact by rebuilding processes, developing a team, and partnering closely with executive leadership, we'd love to hear from you.
