The Assistant Clinical Director will be a staff member in Therapy Services. The primary focus of this position is to provide support and mentorship to staff implementing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) programs and behavior plans developed and approved by the family and the insurance provider. This position will also involve additional leadership and administrative responsibility, supervising Board Certified Behavior Analysts. The Assistant Clinical Director will support the Clinical Director and take on the Clinical Director’s responsibilities as needed when the Clinical Director is unable to perform them. This position will maintain current caseload expectations.
The Assistant Clinical Director will work directly with the Clinical Director and Senior Director at the assigned Autism Center. This job can occur in center-based and community-based services. There will be no more than one Assistant Clinical Director at each clinical site
Requirements
Essential Functions
- Lead by example, displaying timeliness in arrival, work completion and treatment plan submission.
- Support Board Certified Behavior Analysts in treatment plan reviews with insurances companies (when needed).
- Complete assessments for assigned clients.
- Develop, monitor, and modify the implementation of treatment plans for clients in consultation with the Directors.
- Present treatment plan to the insurance provider in a timely manner to ensure appropriate authorization and/or continuation of care.
- Provide supervision to BCBAs and Lead Behavior Technicians on all aspects of implementing high-quality ABA programs and their revisions.
- Maintain a caseload, and provide high-quality therapy and intervention to assigned clients and families
- Provide supervision to Registered Behavior Technicians.
- Provide direct therapy for clients as needed.
- Develop effective behavior plans.
- Receive crisis prevention training and supervise the implementation of crisis prevention.
- Greet and provide tours to visitors to the center for prearranged visits as requested.
- Assist in intakes when requested
- Work with other staff to make sure the Center and other therapeutic environments are safe and healthy environments. Reports housekeeping and/or maintenance needs as they arise.
- Provide information to the accounting department needed for billing for services provided with accuracy and within the designated time frame.
- Learn EMR systems with proficiency to better support your clinical staff.
- Learn insurance codes and billing necessities for insurance companies, to provide accurate and updated information to Board Certified Behavior Analysts.
- Ensure billing is submitted and converted in a timely manner
- Ensure SOAP notes have professional writing, appropriate times, dates, locations and type of service
- Monitor supervised staff billing submission, and provide necessary feedback
- Assist in marketing and promoting the Center’s services including hosting talks and tours for parents of potential clients, therapists, teachers, and others.
- Maintain a positive and respectful relationship with families and maintain appropriate professional boundaries with families, colleagues, and other staff.
- Demonstrate cultural competency in providing consistent high-quality services to individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultural circumstances.
- Complete parent meetings for each client as assigned by Directors or by a treatment plan.
- Meet supervision requirements per approved treatment plans.
- Assist in interviews for new hires to ensure staff are available for clients, as requested
- Provide recommendations and resources for home programs and goals to encourage consistency and reinforcement for ABA programs outside of therapy.
Additional Responsibilities as Assistant Clinical Director of Community Services
- Perform administrative, leadership, and outreach responsibilities as requested by and in support of the Directors.
- Assume responsibilities of the Clinical Director and/or Senior Director as needed when the Clinical Director is not available.
- Represent the center at meetings when the Clinical Director and/or Senior Director is unable to attend.
- Supervise Board Certified Behavior Analysts within the program as needed to assist in ensuring quality therapeutic intervention.
General Responsibilities

- Represent LOGAN in a positive way in the community.
- Serve as an advocate to protect the dignity & human rights of individuals served.
- Serve as an example for staff in terms of good employee practices, including (but not limited to) excellent attendance and strict adherence to LOGAN policies.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- Master’s degree in psychology or related field.
Credentialing
- Certification as a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
- Credentialed with all insurance and Medicaid payors
- Licensed Behavior Analyst in the state(s) of service, if required by that state
Experience
- At least 3 years of experience as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst or equivalent role
- Experience developing and conducting training for various audiences.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Demonstrated excellence in program development and treatment of autism spectrum disorder
- Demonstrated leadership and excellence in supervision of BCBAs and RBTs
- Strong knowledge of & experience with autism spectrum disorder, including assessment and treatment
- Proficient in public speaking
- Demonstrated ability to communicate with and collaborate with families and various providers (SLPs, OTs, teachers, etc.)
- Ability to sit & use computer keyboard
- Ability to kneel, bend, & reach throughout sessions
- Ability to lift 50 pounds throughout intervention
