Job Summary
We are currently hiring for Sub-Varsity basketball coaches. Looking for dedicated, energetic and motivated individuals that have basketball coaching knowledge and a desire to be the best they possibly can be.
Responsibilities
- Plan and execute engaging basketball practices that focus on skill development, teamwork, and game strategy.
- Lead the team during games, providing guidance, motivation, and tactical adjustments to ensure a positive competitive experience.
- Foster a safe and inclusive environment by implementing behavior management strategies that promote respect and sportsmanship among players.
- Monitor players’ physical health and safety during practices and games, ensuring proper warm-up, injury prevention, and adherence to safety protocols.
- Organize team meetings, training sessions, and community events that encourage student participation and school spirit.
- Maintain accurate records of player attendance, progress, and game statistics to support ongoing development.
Requirements
- Prior experience in sports coaching or teaching physical education is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated knowledge of basketball rules, techniques, and strategies.
- Experience working with children or adolescents in a coaching or childcare setting.
- Strong skills in behavior management to promote positive conduct on and off the court.
- Familiarity with other activities like cheerleading, climbing, swimming or gymnastics can enhance coaching versatility.
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff while maintaining a lively and motivating attitude.
