- Plan and execute comprehensive basketball practices tailored to the skill levels of freshman players, emphasizing fundamental techniques and strategic understanding.
- Lead team drills, scrimmages, and conditioning exercises that promote physical fitness, agility, and teamwork.
- Teach sportsmanship, behavior management, and positive communication to foster a respectful team culture.
- Prepare players for upcoming games by developing game strategies and providing constructive feedback during competitions.
- Monitor player safety during practices and games, ensuring adherence to safety protocols related to physical activity.
- Collaborate with school staff, athletic trainers, and parents to support student-athletes’ academic and personal development.
- Prior experience in sports coaching or teaching physical education is highly desirable.
- Background in basketball playing or coaching at the youth or high school level is preferred.
- Experience working with children or adolescents in a childcare or educational setting demonstrates strong behavior management skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff while fostering a positive team environment.
- Certification in sports coaching or relevant health club/gym training is a plus for ensuring safe practice environments.
