We are seeking a dedicated Facilities Custodian to maintain cleanliness and safety across our premises. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of janitorial and custodial tasks to ensure a clean, organized, and welcoming environment. Responsibilities
- Perform general cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and trash removal throughout the facility
- Conduct specialized floor care such as buffing, polishing, and carpet cleaning to maintain high standards of cleanliness
- Handle custodial tasks involving restroom sanitation, window cleaning, and surface disinfecting
- Assist with facilities maintenance tasks including minor repairs and upkeep of fixtures and equipment
- Support industrial cleaning projects as needed, ensuring adherence to safety protocols
- Maintain supplies inventory and notify management when stock levels are low
- Ensure all cleaning equipment is properly maintained and stored after use
- Follow safety guidelines and procedures to prevent accidents or injuries during custodial activities
Skills
- Proven experience in cleaning, janitorial work, or custodial services with knowledge of commercial or industrial cleaning techniques
- Experience with residential painting or facilities maintenance is a plus
- Ability to operate cleaning machinery such as sweepers or extractors effectively
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of cleanliness
- Physical stamina to perform manual tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
- Knowledge of safety procedures related to custodial work and industrial cleaning environments
