We are seeking a dedicated Emergency Medicine Physician for a 24-day locum tenens assignment in ME, starting Jun 15, 2026. This role involves managing a diverse range of emergency cases within a community access hospital setting, including respiratory issues, abdominal pain, various injuries, and behavioral health concerns. The physician will be responsible for stabilizing patients and arranging transfers for those requiring higher acuity care during 24-hour shifts.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Provide comprehensive emergency medical care to patients within a community access hospital environment.
- Diagnose and treat conditions such as RSV, stomach pain, chest pain, and common illnesses like colds and flu.
- Manage various injuries including those requiring stitches, and initial treatment for broken bones.
- Evaluate and address patient presentations related to substance abuse and mental health crises.
- Stabilize and facilitate the transfer of patients involved in accidents or those requiring specialized care not available on-site.
- Be aware that anesthesia services are unavailable from Friday through Sunday.
