Minimum Qualifications / Job Requirements
- Board Certified in Cardiology (Cardiologist)
- Active Michigan medical license required (Michigan cardiology jobs)
- At least 1 year of cardiology experience in inpatient or hospital-based cardiology
- DEA registration
- Must reside in Michigan or nearby — drive-in only (no flights)
- Clean background for quick credentialing; complete self-query NPDB within the month of application
- Employee health requirements: Flu vaccine (24–25 season), COVID documentation or declination, TB screening (2-step within 12 months or Quantiferon within 6 months), TB questionnaire, Hep B (titer or declination), MMR (vaccine series or titers), Varicella (vaccine series or titers), TDAP (adult vaccine within last 10 years)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide inpatient cardiology coverage and 24-hour call as the locum tenens cardiologist
- Collaborate closely with inpatient Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) and the cardiology care team
- Perform and interpret echocardiography, treadmill stress tests, and chemical stress tests
- Deliver high-quality cardiac care to adult inpatients, manage consultations, and coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams
- Document patient care and orders using Cerner EHR
- Participate in orientation, training, and quality initiatives as required by the hospital
