Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year experience as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA); hospital-based anesthesia experience preferred
- Current RN license in Illinois (compact or state license as applicable)
- Graduation from an accredited nurse anesthesia program
- Current certification from the AANA Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists
- BLS/ACLS and other facility-required certifications (per facility policy)
- Strong teamwork, communication, perioperative assessment, and patient-centered care skills
Key Responsibilities
- Perform pre-anesthesia assessments and perioperative evaluations for surgical and obstetric patients
- Obtain and verify informed consent for anesthesia; explain anesthetic options and risks to patients
- Induce, maintain, and manage emergence from anesthesia across a broad case mix (general, ortho, OB)
- Monitor intraoperative physiology and intervene appropriately to ensure patient safety
- Document anesthesia care accurately in Epic/iPro and perform clear handoffs to PACU and perioperative staff
- Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, OR nurses, and perioperative teams to deliver safe, patient-focused care
