Service Advisor

Lockwood Motors is looking for a motivated, professional, and customer-focused Automotive Service Advisor to join our growing Service Department.

The Service Advisor is the primary point of contact between our customers and the Service Department. In this role, you will greet customers, understand their vehicle concerns, recommend necessary maintenance and repairs, communicate repair recommendations clearly, and ensure each customer has an exceptional experience from check-in through vehicle delivery.

The ideal candidate is confident, organized, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced dealership environment. Automotive service experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right person who has strong customer-service and sales skills.

What You’ll Do

• Greet customers promptly and professionally when they arrive for service.
• Listen carefully to customers' concerns and accurately document vehicle symptoms and requested services.
• Write detailed repair orders and communicate customer concerns clearly to technicians.
• Recommend appropriate maintenance and repair services based on vehicle needs, manufacturer recommendations, technician findings, and customer concerns.
• Prepare estimates and explain recommended repairs, costs, and timelines to customers.
• Obtain customer approval before performing additional work.
• Maintain consistent communication with customers throughout the repair process.
• Provide customers with accurate updates regarding vehicle status, additional repairs, parts availability, and completion times.
• Coordinate closely with technicians, parts personnel, warranty administrators, and management.
• Monitor repair orders to ensure work is completed accurately and on schedule.
• Review completed repairs with customers and explain work performed.
• Close repair orders, collect payment, and ensure all paperwork is accurate and complete.
• Follow up with customers after service when appropriate.
• Build long-term relationships with customers and encourage repeat business.
• Maintain high customer satisfaction and dealership service standards.
• Recommend additional services and maintenance when appropriate while always putting the customer's needs first.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment.
• Follow all dealership policies, safety procedures, and manufacturer guidelines.

What We’re Looking For

• Previous automotive service advisor, service writer, automotive technician, or dealership experience is preferred.
• Strong customer-service and communication skills.
• Professional, friendly, and positive attitude.
• Ability to communicate automotive repairs and technical information in a way customers can easily understand.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple customers and repair orders at the same time.
• Comfortable discussing pricing, estimates, and repair recommendations.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively with technicians and other dealership departments.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn dealership software and systems.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Must be dependable and able to work scheduled hours.

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 year of automotive service advisor or service-writing experience.
• Dealership experience.
• Knowledge of automotive maintenance and repair.
• Experience with DMS/service management software.
• Experience with manufacturer warranty procedures.

Schedule

Full-Time

Typical schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–5:30 PM, rotating Saturdays
