JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary/Objective
This position is responsible for the overall management of our cross docking warehouse facility.

Essential Functions

  • Maintain and execute Cross-Dock schedule
  • General manager administration including, but not limited to, workers compensation, new hire interviewing, conducting training for efficiencies and overall safety culture, etc
  • Maintain required documentation (completed load summaries and bills of lading for internal company drivers as well as over the road carriers)
  • Manage inventory and storage planning.
  • Creating and managing labor reports.
  • Ensuring facility maintenance and cleanliness.
  • Assist in daily freezer/cooler checks and schedule maintenance as needed
  • Assist in daily monitoring of storage containers
  • Computer competent (Microsoft Office, specifically Excel) and email proficient
  • Other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibility

This position supervises all warehouse personnel and is responsible for directing and redirecting all warehouse employees to keep them accountable for daily duties.

Work Environment

This position works in a warehouse setting, with outdoor exposure during the workday. This position works in a non-temperature controlled warehouse setting, with outdoor exposure during the workday. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines, and standard warehouse equipment such as hand trucks, light machinery, box cutters and tape dispensers..

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move objects up to 10 pounds. When assisting in loading and unloading containers, employee may lift and/or move boxes in excess of 50 pounds and must be able to perform this work when needed. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Hours of work are Monday through Friday,45 hours (minimum) per week.

Travel

There are no travel expectations for this position.

Required Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED. Ideal candidate will have 10 years of experience in shipping and receiving. Forklift certification and knowledge of Profit Tools software a plus.
