Cross Dock Material Handler 1

In the Chicago area alone we have 14 active warehouses across Woodridge, Bolingbrook, Romeoville, Lockport and Joliet with two startups in Plainfield ramping up. Essential Responsibilities:

• Safely load and unload trucks and trailers using proper procedures and equipment
• Accurately pick, stage and build pallets of product from warehouse inventory
• Operate stand-up reach forklifts, cherry pickers and sit-down forklifts to move, stack and organize freight
• Follow all safety procedures at all times and perform other warehouse tasks as assigned

Qualifications:

• 1 year Fork Lift driving experience (Reach, Sit-Down, Walkie/EPJ and Cherry Picker)
• Strong attention to detail with ability to complete paperwork and follow written procedures accurately
• Good communication and problem-solving skills to resolve shipment discrepancies with dispatch, drivers and internal teams
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn warehouse and business systems
• Warehouse experience preferred; candidates with transferable experience from other fast-paced, physical work environments are encouraged to apply

Requirements:

• This is full time, shift based work – must be able to work on time and as scheduled
• Ability to read, write and comprehend English
• Basic math skills
• Ability to solve practical problems in a dynamic environment
